The Pioneer Cemetery

The Pioneer Cemetery, at the base of Dolores Mountain, was a gift of the Carlton family to the Society in 1966. Unfortunately, all records of the pioneers buried there have been lost. But the 2.5 acres are maintained and in the spring purple and yellow wildflowers blanket the entire area. The local Boy Scout troop has spent many hours erecting crosses on the known graves and building a covered seating area for those who wish to visit. It is hoped in the future earth-scanning devices can locate additional graves and the missing records will be found.
